The Results Are In!
Story by
Service Coordinator, Lenora Heckel
Achieve
is committed to providing the
highest quality services to the
people we support by continuously
looking for ways to improve our
services and the opportunities
available.
In the past, satisfaction surveys
were given to parents and guardian
after each annual ISP meeting and
while that information was helpful
for that specific team, it did not
provide SD Achieve the opportunity
to look at overall satisfaction of
services agency-wide. During the
month of June, family members and
people supported by Achieve were
asked to complete a newly designed
satisfaction survey. This survey
tool was based on the Personal
Outcome Measures and was completed
by 34.8% of family members and 77%
of people served. The information
gleaned from the survey results will
be used in the strategic planning
for each department as we move
forward.
Results from these surveys included
both positive and constructive
feedback- both of which are
imperative for the continued
positive growth of Achieve. While
none of the results came as a
complete surprise, it was helpful to
get a better understanding of the
extent of the need, especially from
the perspective of those we serve
and their families.
Areas that Achieve will continue to
focus on include increased community
involvement, lowering staff
turn-over, increased living options
that are safe, higher levels of
consistent follow-through, low-cost
transportation options, and
increased understanding of online
information for family. Parents and
guardians also shared their
appreciation and support for their
family member’s staff and the
dedication shown to achieve dreams.
Thank you to those who participated
or assisted someone to take part.
We look forward to your involvement
again next year.
