Exciting opportunities are happening at our new location!  Inspirations, located just north of the Rushmore room at 1101 S. Cliff Ave, has allowed South Dakota Achieve more room to spread out as well as provides a brand new store front to sell merchandise created by people with disabilities.   In April, 30 people supported and 4 staff started working from this new location with half of the people working on production jobs while the other half are working on jewelry.


Inspirations by South Dakota Achieve opened their doors for business on Monday July 20th. 

Items that will be available for sale at the new store include handmade jewelry, cards, blankets, birdhouses, and paintings.  All items are made by people that receive services from SD Achieve.  Other items will include Achieve merchandise including apparel, cappuccino, and delicious food products made by the Cookie Cutter.
 
Inspirations Jewelry, formally known as Hot Springs Jewelry, will be one of the main focuses of the store.  Since the spring of 2005, people at South Dakota Achieve have been making and selling jewelry at different shows, stores around town, and to those who would stop in at Achieve.  With the new space available behind the store more people have been given the opportunity to express their artistic abilities in making one of a kind jewelry pieces.  Those working on the jewelry have been working very hard over the last couple of months to ensure that enough inventory is made for the store opening. 
 
Along with making items for the store they will continue to make pieces for the number of shops around Sioux Falls that carry their items and for the different craft shows they attend each year. 

We are looking forward to the opportunities opening up a store will give those working on these items.  It will give them a chance to take ownership in what they make and also in the store itself.  It will also give people the opportunity to learn the skills needed to run and maintain a store.
 
People will be given the opportunity to learn how to run the cash register, make change, stock shelves, and greet customers as they arrive.  We are very excited about this new venture and hope to see the store overflowing with customers.  We invite you to stop in and view the latest styles of jewelry while enjoying a cappuccino and cookie.
