Twins’ Fans Take Trip to Metrodome
Story by Support Professional, Brian Estes

Sitting among the 24,727 fans packed in the Metrodome on Sunday, May 5th, five men who live in the Burger House wondered if All Star Twins’ catcher, Joe Mauer, would be able to repeat the three-run comeback he made two days earlier after returning from a back injury. Only nine innings could tell if he would be able to do it again.

The sunny, 70-degree day, turned out to be a perfect one for browsing the vendor booths outside of the stadium prior to the game. Steve, being “born a Twins’ fan”, along with the others, took this opportunity to pick up some memorabilia. With souvenirs in hand, they entered the domed stadium just in time to watch the warm-ups begin.

Through six innings, the Twins dominated the Kansas City Royals with a 4-0 lead. Much of their success could be credited to, pitcher, Scott Baker, who did not allow any hits. Justin Morneau, Jason’s favorite player, was equally impressive with one run and three hits.

Unfortunately, for the Twins, the second half of the game took a turn for the  worse. Over the next three innings, much to the guys’ disappointment, the Royals racked up five runs. Not even Joe Mauer could save them with a two-out run in the bottom of the ninth because the Royals were able to add two more runs after this making the final score, 5-7, in favor of the Royals.

Even though the Twins did not win, the guys had a good time watching them try. They
enjoyed cheering for the Twins, dancing to the music, and eating the stadium food. Being die-hard fans, you can guarantee they  will be back again to watch them soon!

Twins fans included: Jason, Mike, Shaun, Steve, Tim from the Burger House and support professional, Brian Estes.
