Eyes Wide Open
Story by Vice President Development,
Linda Wittrock Eidem
South Dakota Achieve was one of the
11 recipients, out of 79 applicants,
for the “KELO Tradition of Caring
Grant.” We were pleased to be
awarded $20,000 in air time on
KELO and
UTV.
As part of the grant, KELO assisted
us in producing a 30 second ad with
a theme of “Eyes Wide Open”. It’s
not just something we say. It’s
something we strive for. It’s the
basis of everything we do: opening
minds, opening hearts, and opening
eyes to the world.
Opening the eyes of the people we
serve by providing living choices,
work opportunity and a new outlook
on relationships.
Opening the eyes of our employees,
who are both moved to action and
fulfilled by their important work as
the true backbone of our
organization.
Opening the eyes of the community,
showing that people with
disabilities don’t simply sit idly
by, but are deeply woven into the
fabric of the community, offering
richness through their unique
abilities.
The ad is scheduled to begin airing
by mid February on both KELO and UTV.
It will be running at various times
of the day throughout the year. The
ad will run 681 times, providing a
wonderful opportunity for others to
“see” what we do every day!
Hope you will be watching for our ad
and provide us feedback.
Thank you to KELO and to Paul Farmer
for making this possible.
