Giving Back to the Community

Each year, South Dakota Achieve employees and individuals receiving services at South Dakota Achieve find ways to give back to their community through volunteerism and donations. Some of the projects and organizations include:
  • Butterfly House & Outdoor Campus
     
  • SOS (Supply Our Students) Project as well as folding silverware at the Banquet
     
  • Meals on Wheels project at Center for Active Generations
     
  • Festival of Giving
     
  • Here 4 Youth
     
  • Central Baptist Church – Awana’s Kids Program
     
  • Humane Society
     
  • Children’s Inn
     
  • Walk Now for Autism Speaks
     
  • Buddy Walk for Alzheimer’s
     
  • Great Plains Zoo
     
  • University of Sioux Falls sporting events

In 2011, a total of 1,587.35 hours were spent volunteering in the community! Our goal for 2012 is 2,000 hours!

About the Community Networking Committee: The purpose statement of this committee is to strengthen South Dakota Achieve’s mission by forming and nurturing community partnerships through giving back/volunteering. We build community relationships with organizations that offer volunteer opportunities to the people we support.
